Job Overview: We seek a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to join our team and lead our operational initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operations management, financial services, and regulatory compliance. They will review and implement policies, procedures, and systems to optimize efficiency, enhance productivity, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with senior management to develop and implement strategic operational plans and initiatives.
- Review and enforce policies, procedures, and systems to govern various aspects of operations including, regulatory compliance, productivity enhancement, speedy execution, and human capital development.
- Oversee relationships with banks, brokers, and custodians ensuring timely execution of mandates, accurate settlement, accurate client account statements, reconcile accounts, and promptly address any discrepancies.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, fostering a culture of professionalism, commitment to personal growth, and constant development.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement a standard operating procedure across various job functions.
- Work closely with cross-functional units to support the firm’s compliance program in implementing policies and procedures that mitigate operational risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Facilitate the firm’s interactions with regulatory agencies.
- Oversee the finance and account functions including periodic reporting, account reconciliation, regulatory filings, tax advisory, internal audit, and cash management.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resources. Leverage technology solutions to automate manual processes and streamline workflows.
- Collaborate across departments to set realistic targets, establish KPIs, and monitor progress towards achieving organizational goals.
- Ensure strict adherence to sound corporate governance practices and set high standards of professionalism across functions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., MSc, MBA, CFA, ICAN, ACCA, FRA, etc) is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in operations management within the financial services industry is strongly required.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and trading processes.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements governing investment advisory firms, including SEC regulations and compliance best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify process improvements and implement strategic solutions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with an eye for accuracy and precision in all operational activities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
